Humble Pie

Situasi: A girl from kampung came to a specialist clinic to get her thyroid lump checked.

Mr X : Okeh,kita nak check sikit, boleh bukak tudung tak?

Girl : ermm saya segan

Mr X: bukak tudung segan, pakai ketat-ketat tak malu pulak?

*disambut hilai tawa student-student disekeliling*

I lost my respect for Mr X there and then. What happen to not imposing your belief on others? What happen to ethics and whatnot? Sure you might think its your responsibility as a Muslim to tegur. But im sure there are better ways to convey your message. You can be religious without being a jerk.

Dahlah budak perempuan tu umur sebaya dengan student sekeliling dia,kau ingat self esteem dia tak terjejas ke kena public humiliation macamtu? If it was me I'd rather die from thyroid disease daripada datang nak check kat hospital lepastu macamkan aku ni takde maruah kau nak cerca.

Then Mr X asked that girl where she come from etc etc. She told him she come from a kampung to work here in the city.

Mr X: owh this is what we call migrant worker. They come from kampung and live here without parents supervision contributing to social problems.

Judgemental much?

Kerek gila nak stereotype orang kampung macamtu. Kalau berani pergi try kutuk orang kampung depan Opah. Memang mengundang terompah atas kepala kau. I dont mind when he tortured and verbally abuse students like us. Ini memang ditakdirkan,hidup sebagai medical student memang wajibulghunnah terima cercaan dengan hati redha. But memang tak boleh terima bila kau nak rendah-rendahkan maruah orang yang tak dikenali secara public.

Elok-elok datang hospital dengan thyroid problem, balik rumah tambah plak sakit jiwa sebab stress kena hina. Somebody needs a slice of this;

ps:anggaplah cerita ini tiada kena-mengena dengan yang hidup atau yang mati. cerpen malam minggu barangkali
