Pengalaman Ngeri Yang Menginsafkan

I think i've told you guys before about this one weird habit of mine. I love spending time on youtube watching videos of animals giving birth. You freak!

I dont do this on a daily basis, tabiat pelik ini cuma menjadi-jadi di musim exam sahaja. -_-"
Giraffe, dolphin, stingray, you name it. i've watched it all. My absolute favourite is panda.

I find it amusing, this whole giving birth thing. It's gross and beautiful all in one. While i have no problem watching video haiwan beranak, i've only watched video manusia beranak once in Dublin Maternity Hospital, threw up in my mouth a little. The difference is haiwan beranak macam tak sakit ( i mean look at that panda,so composed.so pro), manusia beranak rupa dia macam sakit gila tak sanggup nak tengok.

Tapi apakan daya terlanjur sign up for medschool hari yang ditakuti akhirnya tiba juga minggu lepas. I have to watch deliveries at the maternity hospital. Live. *pitam*

I thought we were going to do this in the last rotation which is Obs & Gyn. By that time i figured i'd be more mentally prepared to face all this. Tetapi rupa-rupanya we've to assist in neonatal resuscitation last week jadi nak taknak kenalah menggagahi diri menonton orang bersalin.

The common scenario in delivery room:

At one point there was more than 10 people in the delivery room. So to those of you who wants some privacy, i suggest you to start saving up money and go to private hospital.

The process took up a long time, depending on how pro you are. Can you imagine squeezing a baby's head through a tiny birth canal? Kalau kita tengok video-video pembedahan mesti terasa ngilu macam kita yang kena bedah. That day i felt something funny in my tummy, and i dont even have a uterus.

Kita ni kalau sembelit dua hari nak berak taik keras pun dah menitiskan airmata, cuba bayangkan mak-mak yang beranak ni haa...mungkin sakit sembelit kuasa 3 bilion. At the end of the day, i've a newfound respect for mothers. Fathers are strong, but mothers..they are braver.

That lady in pink, she squeezed out 5 fatass kids- all done at government hospital. Mad respect.

I love you Mom,stretch marks and all.
