Truth be told, Psychiatry is very boring. Too many theories and too much time spent on one patient. Kalau clerking biasa takes you roughly setengah jam, Psychiatry clerking ambil masa at least one hour. And by the end of 1++ hour tu bukan patient je rasa nak amukan, dengan kau-kau sekali rasa nak bakar hospital.
But today i've learned something new.
Instead of going to the psychiatry ward like usual, we went to a school for kanak-kanak kurang upaya. These kids ada yang Down's,autistic,dyslexic etc etc. Tapi semua periang comel melampaui batas.
Exhibit A:
I personally think Malaysia needs more teachers like her. Someone who is really passionate in educating the kids, bukan yang sebenarnya jadik cikgu sebab tiba-tiba rasa kerja cikgu je yang senang lepastu cuti banyak heaven woih.
Untuk membuktikan betapa beliau berbesar hati menerima kunjungan student medicine yang tak seberapa ini siap ada prepare bihun goreng tomyam for us T_T
Sepatutnya kitorang yang datang ni lah yang bawak buah tangan,ni dia pulak yang siap jamu bihun goreng satu tray besar. Dahlah makan sampai licin -__-"
Sambil makan bihun sambil tengok students menyanyi menari. Comelness overload.

Ni bukan menyanyi berjoget lagu-lagu bimbo Selena Gomez dan seangkatannya, the songs they sang and dance to were actually very educational. Ada lagu pasal banyakkan minum air, pasal menjaga kebersihan diri and also lagu menggalakkan mereka untuk jadi budak yang baik.
-maaf,kamera sedikit getaran jiwa.
Later in the afternoon i went to a psychogeriatric clinic at the hospital. Psychogeriatric kiranya specialize untuk orang-orang tua yang ada masalah psychology. We met this old couple there. The husband is 90 tahun and suffering from Alzheimer's disease so ada dementia.
The moment they walked in you can notice that the wife is really exhausted sebab jaga orang dementia ni bukan senang. Sikit-sikit dia lupa and they are highly dependant on their caregiver.
This aunty in her high pitch voice shouted to the uncle in chinese,asking him to write down a sentence. And this is what he wrote;

The tone in his wife's voice kadang-kadang macam nak marah pun ada sebab pakcik ni dahlah ada hearing problem lepastu tambah pulak dengan penyakit ni memang sah-sah kena repeat arahan lapanploh kali baru nak paham. We conducted a mini mental state examination on this uncle to assess his cognitive function.
Based on the assessments, the patient will be given a total score to monitor the level of deterioration in his orientation,memory etc etc. One of the assessment requires the patient to write down a sentence. Since this 90 year old uncle can understand his wife better, we asked his wife to give out the instruction.This aunty in her high pitch voice shouted to the uncle in chinese,asking him to write down a sentence.
